Brompton Mechanic / Salesperson

The Role

Brompton is one of the most iconic bicycle brands in London, and we’re looking for someone who knows the bikes, understands the riders, and can help us build something special around them at our Battersea store.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Brompton mechanic and salesperson who enjoys both the technical side of the work and the customer-facing side of retail. You’ll be helping customers choose the right Brompton, keeping their bikes running beautifully, advising on accessories and upgrades, and becoming a key part of our Battersea team.

We’re looking for someone with strong Brompton knowledge from both a workshop and sales perspective — someone confident in servicing, diagnosing and repairing Brompton bikes, as well as explaining options clearly and helping customers make good decisions.

For the right person, this position also offers the opportunity to grow into a store management role. Previous management experience is not essential. If you have the technical knowledge, customer skills and ambition to develop further, we will provide the training, guidance and support to help you progress.

What you’ll do

  • Brompton servicing and repairs: Diagnose, service and repair Brompton bikes to a high standard, including regular maintenance, adjustments, troubleshooting and more complex mechanical work.
  • Customer advice and sales: Help customers choose the right Brompton model, setup, accessories and upgrades. Explain options clearly and give honest, useful advice based on each rider’s needs.
  • Quality and handover: Check bikes carefully before they are handed back to customers, make sure work is completed properly, and keep the customer informed throughout the process.
  • Shop and workshop support: Help keep the Battersea store running smoothly, maintain tidy systems, support stock handling, and work closely with the wider Bicyclenation team.
  • Future store leadership: For the right person, gradually take on more responsibility in the store, including day-to-day organisation, customer experience, team coordination and commercial performance.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong hands-on experience with Brompton bikes.
  • Confident mechanical skills, including servicing, diagnosis and repairs.
  • A friendly, helpful and professional approach with customers.
  • Good sales ability and confidence explaining products, options and upgrades.
  • A practical, organised and detail-minded way of working.
  • A team player who is happy to help across workshop, shop floor and customer service tasks.
  • A genuine interest in cycling and helping more people ride.

Bonus: previous retail, workshop coordination or management experience.

Hours of employment: Full-time.

Location: Battersea, London.

Start: ASAP – though we’re happy to wait for the right person.

Salary: 28,000 – 30,000 depending on experience.

Benefits

Staff discounts, training opportunities, Brompton-specific development, and a supportive, inclusive small-team environment.
