What will you be doing? Working closely with the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for maximising the stores profitability and commercial presence in the retail market. The role will have a strong strategic slant with the Assistant Manager being instrumental in monitoring and delivering the store’s performance against plan. Key Responsibilities: Delivery of KPI’s in the following areas: Sales, merchandising, replenishment, stock keeping, order management and quality Manage inventory levels/costs through the effective use of the reporting tools available through the EPOS system Analyse sales information and forecast future sales volumes to optimize stock levels, margins and profits Drive sales through various commercial initiatives Maximize sales through dynamic merchandising and store layout Control of Store overhead costs Responsible for stock loss/variation ensuring regular auditing of stock Analyse and interpret industry and local trends to facilitate stock planning Develop and support relationships with key stake holders to promote the store and the organization at large, via for example local schools, newspapers, cycle clubs and the local community in general Lead changes to improve the business, respond to competitor initiatives, contribute to the strategic marketing and PR support provided by CRC Ensure store presentation is to a high standard, ensuring close monitoring of general housekeeping and store layout Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ proven management experience in a customer facing retail environment Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Supervisor in a retail environment Proven ability to drive sales and customer satisfaction levels. Proven experience of managing a medium sized diverse team in a sport, leisure or cycle retail environment Knowledge of the sport of cycling industry A cycling enthusiast High degree of customer focus/responsiveness Proven ability to inspire and work pro-actively within a team Commercial and financial acumen Being diverse and inclusive are key to our company values.
