Chesterfield school pupils have been encouraged to ‘Be Safe, Be Seen’ on their bikes now the days are getting shorter.
PCSO David Bull from the Derbyshire Constabulary visited a number of schools before the clocks changed to encourage young riders to be visible on their bikes with high vis gear and lights.
Retailer JE James got behind the campaign and supplied PCSO Bull with a promo flyer with an exclusive special offer for primary school pupils buying such cycle gear from the store.
The retailer said: "Many of the staff at JE James Cycles ride in to work daily and we fully understand the importance of improving road safety for cyclists, particularly at night when conditions become more high risk.
"We are fully behind the ‘Be Safe, Be Seen’ campaign and think it’s a great idea to be informing the younger generation of what is important during the winter months, and the key essential items needed for cycling safety at night."
