ICAP becomes official Sponsor of L’Etape London by Le Tour de France

Human Race has announced that ICAP is to become Official Title Sponsor of L’Etape London by Le Tour de France.

ICAP L’Etape London by Le Tour de France will take place on Sunday 25 September 2016, starting and finishing at the Lee Valley VeloPark, home of the 2012 Olympic Games.

As part of the partnership, 200 ICAP employees will take part in ICAP L’Etape London by Le Tour de France and will raise much-needed funds for a selected beneficiary, to be announced in due course.

L’Etape London was launched in 2015 by organisers Human Race alongside Le Tour de France owners ASO. The event was successful with 3,500 places in the sportive selling out. The three routes of 42, 92 and 117 miles follow much of the Stage Three route of the 2014 Tour de France, when the Grand Départ took placein the UK.

Many exclusive Le Tour de France experiences will feature as part of the event, including a timed finish around the 1 kilometre closed road track with the opportunity to win official jerseys and prizes. The event village will also feature a replica of the famous Le Tour de France podium, alongside official cars, storyboards and photo opportunities.

Nick Rusling, CEO of Human Race, commented: “We spoke to a number of interested parties who wanted to partner on this prestigious event, but it soon became clear that ICAP were the right people to work with. They truly understand the full scale of the ride which extends the legacy of the 2014 event and the positive impact Le Tour de France brand has on the health and wellbeing of team members”

David Casterton, CEO Global Broking, ICAP, said: “The reach of cycling as a global sport is tremendous with many ICAP staff having a keen interest worldwide. Previously groups of ICAP employees have taken part in many sportives, have completed the London to Paris ride on numerous occasions, and those that simply commute to work by bike has grown hugely over the last few years.

"With that in mind, our sponsorship of L’Etape London by Le Tour de France was a natural fit for the company and enables us to offer all employees a unique opportunity to participate in a national sporting event. We are excited about this opportunity and look forward to working with Nick and the Human Race team.”
