A batch of 1200 Mongoosepro AC100, AC200 and AC300 child cycle trailers distributed since April 2000 until recently, and a smaller consignment of Allycat trailers which have been distributed since April 2001 are being recalled because the steel hitching brackets are showing signs of premature wear

Hot Wheels is swift to recall trailercycle hitches

Russell Merry of Hot Wheels said:

"We have already traced and replaced 250 of these brackets but are voluntarily recalling the balance as a precaution because we want to ensure the highest level of safety and satisfaction for the users."

The trailers concerned bear the brand name "Mongoosepro" or “Allycat” on the down-tube. The model number AC100, AC200 or AC300 is shown elsewhere on the Mongoosepro frame. They are available in red, blue, green, teal or black.

Hot Wheels is advising consumers who have bought these particular trailers to stop using them immediately as a precaution and wait to be sent a replacement bracket.
