Haibike reveals changes in its range for 2018

Haibike recently hosted a 2018 range launch at its headquarters in Schweinfurt, Germany.

A range of updates and new models were announced at the event, including a reorganisation of its e-bike range. Haibike has now changed the xDuro and sDuro ranges from those relating to powered by Bosch and Yamaha drive units respectively, to now reflect the two core areas it sees developing in the e-bike market. Since 2010, Haibike has been making e-MTBs for both mainstream riders and those in the more extreme niche.

From 2018 onwards, sDuro will relate to the sport range of bikes aimed at the mainstream rider taking on a variety of terrains. The xDuro will be positioned for the extreme rider seeking aggressive performance characteristics with slacker geometry, a longer wheel base, greater options for travel and premium components. Both ranges will have a mix of both Bosch and Yamaha drive units.

As a result, there is a new line up for both ranges; the 2018 sDuro range incorporates full suspension, hardtail and adventure models with the xDuro bringing advanced off-road all mountain, enduro and downhill bikes along with full sus and hardtail fat bikes.

Being introduced on Haibike for the first time in 2018 is the new Yamaha PW-SE drive unit. This sits between the Yamaha PW and PW-X units. It also comes with an LCD display unit.

2018 also sees the launch of the Bosch Power Tube or in-tube battery. The Bosch powered Haibike models now incorporate the in-tube battery for increased security and protection whilst riding.
