Gtechniq has launched Fabric Proof, a PFAS-free durable water repellent spray developed for cycling clothing, footwear and other technical outdoor kit.
The new treatment is designed to restore or add water repellency to garments including waterproof jackets, jerseys, bib tights, trousers, softshells and shoes. Unlike many fabric proofing products, Gtechniq said Fabric Proof does not require heat activation, removing the need for tumble drying after application.
To apply, riders spray the product onto clean, dry garments and leave them to air dry for three hours. Gtechniq said the formula maintains fabric breathability while delivering water repellency and abrasion resistance in high-wear areas, such as shoulders when riding with a backpack or under the arms.

According to the brand, Fabric Proof can last up to ten wash cycles, which it says is three to four times longer than typical fabric proofers. The spray also includes anti-microbial properties intended to help keep riding kit fresher in wet conditions.
A 250ml bottle is expected to treat a long-sleeved jersey, a set of trousers or tights and a pair of gloves. A 500ml bottle can protect approximately four garments, depending on garment size and application, with Gtechniq suggesting this could include two sets of trousers or tights, a hooded jacket and a long-sleeved jersey.
Gtechniq Fabric Proof is in stock now, priced at £15.95 SRP for 250ml and £29.95 SRP for 500ml.
