Gtechniq, a leading name in advanced surface protection has launched Brake Cleaner, a non-aerosol, solvent-based brake cleaner suitable for disc and rim brake applications.
Gtechniq Brake Cleaner is a proprietary solvent blend, specially formulated to dissolve the contamination that builds up on brake discs and in pads, and then quickly evaporate leaving minimal residue.
It is designed for use on disc brakes, both on and off the bike, and can be used to clean discs and pads alike. It also apparently works well on rim brake wheels and pads, helping to maintain smooth, consistent braking on every ride.

According to the brand, being in a standard spray bottle rather than an aerosol also gives the product a number of added benefits. Firstly, it allows for more product to be shipped in a smaller volume container, with no need for propellants taking up valuable space. Secondly, it allows for better control of application, reducing overspray or product particles becoming airborne in confined workshops. Lastly, propellants can be environmentally damaging, and the reduced waste from not using large aerosol helps reduce the environmental impact of the product without compromising cleaning performance.
Gtechniq has a wide range of workshop products focused around giving bike shops and mechanics top-of-the-line cleaning and protection products in more cost-effective packages, with 5L bottles available across most of the workshop line.

Rob Foster, Gtechniq’s Bike Business Development Manager said, “Brake Cleaner does exactly what it says on the tin, but we have of-course added the Gtechniq touch and spent a lot of time and effort ensuring it’s the best brake cleaner on the market, and a great addition to the workshop range.”
Brake Cleaner is available from local distributors, in a 500ml bottle designed for busy workshops, and a 250ml bottle designed for home mechanics.
