"We’re launching our Last Mile call for evidence today into how we can use e-vans, micro vehicles and, yes, e-cargo bikes to improve urban deliveries, with huge potential benefits to air quality, health, livability and the economy," says transport minister Jesse Norman. He added that this was "very exciting".
The call for evidence is on the "opportunities available to deliver goods more sustainably."
It will explore "how electrically powered e-vans, micro vehicles and e-cargo bikes can provide better service to customers for cargo in comparison to light commercial vehicles."
The consultation closes in September.
