GoPro officially launches 360-degree camera

GoPro has officially unveiled a 360-degree camera. The Fusion was previewed in June, but full details have now been revealed at a launch event, including the price: £699. That puts it at the high end of the small 360-cameras.

The waterproof Fusion can shoot video in 5.2K at 30fps, or 3K at 60fps. It can also shoot 18-megapixel still 360-degrees pix.

The camera has built-in "gimbal-like" image stabilisation, and is compatible with most GoPro mounts. Fit it to a bike helmet for fore-and-aft incident capture, for instance.

GoPro is hoping this new camera will further popularise 360-video.

At today’s launch event in San Francisco the company also revealed upgraded specs for the Hero6.
