Druid Cycles-restored bicycles to be sold off to support pro rider's 2012 bids

Going Going Bike auctions bikes at London Bike Show in aid of Olympic rider bids

Online marketplace for bicycle, Going Going Bike is to hold a live auction at the London Bike Show with proceeds of each sale going to support olympic cycling hopefuls.

The collection for sale is made up of customised bikes all restored by Druid Cycles in its London workshops. Bidding starts from the show’s kick off tomorrow and will also take place online at Going Going BIke’s website.

One of the highlights of the auction is the “Arch Mage” bike. It has a 56cm Raleigh frame and headtube, hand painted by Russian artist Philip Firsov.

Andrew Nethercot, Co-Founder of Going Going Bike said: “This is the first time that we have held auctions online and offline at the same time and we reckon it should be a lot of fun. We are expecting some exciting auctions.”

The website’s stand at Excel will resemble an auction room. Going Going Bike will be posting further information on the auctions on its blog, Facebook page and updating its followers on Twitter.
