Welsh pro cyclist becomes the voice of insurer

Geraint Thomas becomes Protect Your Bubble ambassador

Olympic and Commonwealth gold medallist Geraint Thomas MBE has signed up as Protect Your Bubble’s brand ambassador for cycling.

The deal will see the 28-year-old Welsh professional racing cyclist – who once had a TT bike stolen from his car – feature in social media, PR and marketing campaigns by the brand, which insures bicycles worth up to £8,000.

Thomas recently became the first British rider to win the gruelling 215km E3 Harelbeke race in Belgium, and the first Welshman to win a classic in 119 years.

He said: “I’m really excited about joining forces with Protect Your Bubble. Bike thefts are on the rise, and too many cyclists have fallen prey to both opportunist and professional thieves, including me. Protect Your Bubble is committed to providing comprehensive cover, for all types of cyclists, offering financial peace of mind when things go wrong, and advising on how to keep their bikes safe and secure.”

Stephen Ebbett, global director of Protect Your Bubble, says: “Signing Geraint was a memorable moment for us. He’s a legend in cycling, having the best year of his career, and there’s no better person to promote our brand.”
