Royal Gazelle has announced that its Eclipse C380 HMB has won the ‘E-bike of the Year’ category at the RAI Bicycle Awards 2024.
The awards process – which sees several intensive test days carried out by a jury consisting of representatives of various bicycle trade magazines, BOVAG and the ANWB – puts the participating bicycles through their paces. Points of attention included design, innovation, riding characteristics, safety and price/quality ratio.
After reviewing the nominees, the jury declared Gazelle’s Eclipse C380 HMB the winner in the ‘E-bike of the Year’ category, partly due to excellent performance in the areas of design, comfort and safety.
The new Eclipse C380 HMB e-bike features the Bosch Performance Line CX mid-motor paired with an Enviolo hub, enabling riders to shift gears seamlessly. Also featured is a silent, maintenance-free, extremely durable, belt drive.
Eclipse models are equipped with Gazelle Connect as standard, with a built-in GPS module ensuring that a bicycle can always be traced.
The jury praised the Eclipse C380 HMB: “This e-bike … is correct in every detail: The stable frame, oversized tyres and suspension fork provide a familiar and safe riding experience that you would expect from a modern e-bike.
“You can switch gears steplessly, and the modern mid-motor works quietly and does its job unobtrusively.
“A nice detail is the battery charging point just behind the standing tube. The built-in GPS sensor means you can enjoy it without any worries.”
The Eclipse C380 HMB has a suggested retail price of £5.499. The Eclipse e-bike is also available as Eclipse T11 HMB.
Thanks to its design, the Eclipse C380 HMB has also previously won an iF Design Award.
