Universal Transmissions GmbH, Gates’s European aftermarket partner has just announced the start of a new partnership with Ison Distribution Ltd.

The news comes as Gates commends Ison’s wealth of experience in distributing hardware components in the UK and the care for their brands, connections to dealers and high level of service, stating this makes them a perfect partner for Gates Belt Drive in the UK.

Created by Gates Corporation, Gates Belt Drive is the “best high-mileage bicycle drive on the market.” Whether it’s a product for urban commuters, rugged mountain bikers, eBike riders, or casual cruisers, Gates Belt Drive offers a solution.

Although primarily an OEM type product due to the requirement to use a frame designed to be compatible with a 1-piece belt that cannot be split and for that frame to be stiffness test approved by Gates. Increasing numbers of designers are making Gates-compatible frames meaning that more dealers and workshops are seeing a rise in the number of consumers with Gates-equipped bikes.

Available at different performance prices and performance levels, Gates offers specialised sprockets, belts, and cranksets for aftermarket servicing.

Gates Booth at COREbike

 
Chris Harris, from Universal Transmissions GmbH, will be at the Gates booth in the Ison Marquee at the COREbike to talk about Gates products and answer any dealer questions. Initial stocks of Gates parts will be available from Ison in February.
 
Ison says that thanks to the new partnership with Universal Transmissions GmbH, dealers will now be able to mix even just 1 Gates rear sprocket with their regular carriage with paid Ison orders along with everyday lubes, tyres, chains, etc, quickly, making servicing Gates transmissions much easier and more cost-efficient.
