Mark Cantwell has been appointed by Future as associate publisher for BikeRadar.com and Cyclingnews.com.
Starting in the role this week, Cantwell has worked for Future for six years previously in the publisher’s games portfolio where he was responsible for CVG.com which has seen global unique users grow by 120 per cent year-on-year.
Cantwell is no stranger to the bike trade, however, having worked on BikeRadar.com shortly after its launch, signing some of the first Shopping partner contracts.
A key part of Cantwell’s new role will be working closely with advertising sales teams about how to develop digital marketing activity.
“It is great to have Mark back in the cycling business,” enthused Richard Schofield, Group Publishing Director for Future’s Sports and Auto portfolios. “His commercial skills and digital savvy will be a great asset as we seek to further develop these great websites.” Cantwell added: “I am excited to be taking up this new challenge on these two fantastic sites. Both BikeRadar.com and Cyclingnews.com have been great successes for Future and I am looking forward to working with the teams to drive them to even greater heights.”
