Jorvik Tricycles has entered the mobility sector with the launch of its first 3-in-1 tricycle, built on over ten years of work and customer insight.
A first for the business, Jorvik Freedom is the result of more than a decade of work and feedback from both customers and stockists, as the new model aims to bridge the gap in the market between a standard tricycle and mobility scooter.
Jorvik’s new tricycle provides a cross between a recumbent tricycle, an electric bike and a mobility scooter, combining power with stability and support. Equipped with 16-inch tyres, two air springs, and a rear drive Bafang motor, the Jorvik Freedom has been designed and engineered as a perfect hybrid model for both on and off-road cycling.
Mobility solutions for an underrepresented audience

Jorvik highlights that more than a third of Brits feel there is a social stigma attached to mobility scooters*. It’s this audience for which the brand offers solutions – with the Freedom aiming to provide those who require additional support an alternative option, designed to enhance mobility while also offering a stylish way to travel.
Adding to its extensive range, the new model is priced at £4,499 and is disability VAT exempt. Available in black and green and including a 48-volt battery, the new model offers stability and freedom, allowing users who struggle with mobility to combat long journeys.
Jorvik Tricycles was first launched in 2014, and what started as a passion project fuelled by love became a business enterprise. Ten years later, the business is booming and celebrates annual revenue of around £6 million.
James Walker, Founder and Managing Director of Jorvik Tricycles, says: “Our new Jorvik Freedom model has been designed with our customer feedback in mind. Whilst the business has grown over the last ten years, so has our knowledge of the industry. We recognised a trend in the number of customers looking for more supportive options and particularly those who weren’t ready to forgo the style and ease of a tricycle for a mobility scooter.
“Unlike anything else on the market, Jorvik Freedom offers enhanced balance and stability due to its low centre of gravity, an ideal option for those looking for a bit more support. At Jorvik Tricycles, we support our customers in every stage of their mobility and are on a mission to continuously push boundaries to make cycling accessible for all.”
Jorvik Tricycles has also recently launched a bespoke tricycle de-restriction service to deliver enhanced user reliability and support. This will provide those who are less mobile with the throttle power to tackle inclines without physical over-exertion.
