Why? It's a sunshine issue. Even the Brick cartoon majors on the fantastic Spring weather the UK bike trade was benefitting from until late last week. But think positive, the sudden drop in barometric pressure will give you a chance to restock...

Forthcoming BikeBiz mag is out-of-date, out-of-step

The April issue will probably land on your doorstep on May 1st. BicycleBusiness has been coming out on or around the 27th of the month for some time but, with the inclusion of the refresher edition of B3, the latest mag is a few days late. Sorry about that.

The May mag will be early as it will contain the catalogue for the BAGB’s International Cycle Convention.

We really ought to skip a month. In name only, that is. Consumer mags are always dated for the month following their initial publication. We have yet to take this step because with so many advertisers booked in with series deals, retitling the May mag as ‘June’ would lead to confusion in accounts departments up and down the country.

Anyway, back to the weather. Hopefully, the current run of rain and black clouds will soon give way to yet more sunshine and smiles. Bike trade tills need warm weather to keep them open, and full.

When you get the April issue, think back to the balmy days of just a week ago. The mag was written with windows wide open. Today it’s cold enough for the central heating to be fired up again.

Oh well, never cast a clout until May is out.
