For the cyclist who has everything

Component maker Chris King of the US already has a condiment set made from bright coloured anodised hubshells so an espresso tamper isn’t the first diversion into kitchen implements.

And the Portland, Oregon, company also has its own coffee beans: Rocket Brew and Machinist’s Brew.

"Coffee and King employees seem to go hand in hand," says a statement from the company.

The espresso tamper is made in the US and comes in three sizes: 53, 56 and 58 mm.

Chris DiStefano, marketing manager at Chris King, said:

"Our espresso tamper is born from an appreciation of the coffee making process as much as the coffee it produces. We worked in collaboration with the Portland, Oregon based American Barista & Coffee School to develop a professional grade espresso tamper with precise dimensions, exceptional feel, and the iconic shape that every cyclist recognizes as the very best."

The tamper was developed with Tom Pikaart, the Barista Manager and Wholesale Trainer for Water Avenue Coffee, as well as a lead instructor at the American Barista & Coffee School. Pikaart is an avid cyclist and blogs about his "coffee explorations" at PouredOver.com.

The tampers cost $75.00 a piece.
