Focus reveals 2013 bike line-up

Derby Cycle’s Focus brand was shown off at the company’s recent house show.

The new line-up includes the Super Bud 29R with 100mm suspension travel, while the Raven family has been added to with the 650B, taking advantage of the increasingly popular tyre size. In the classic 26-inch range, the Big Bud offers 120mm of suspension travel.

Other 2013 developments include seven racing models with electronic shifting from Shimano and Campagnolo. Off-road the Jarifa 29R Premium e-bike uses the brand new Xion motor.

In the urban sector lightweight carbon has been utilised for a new generation of ‘Planet Carbon’ bikes. In the cyclocross segment the Focus CX 1.0 will sport all the features and styling of the Rapha Focus team.

Elsewhere in the range the Izalco has seen further weight savings. The Izalco Team SL retains its black appearance with with reduced weight and further features.

From model year 2013, Focus has added an extra year to its warranty for all carbon frames and forks – now with a six year warranty. Also from model year 2013, Focus customers will be able to purchase a comparable frameset in the event of damage at a reduced price using ‘Focus Crash Replacement’. There’s a rolling price reduction depending on how new the bike is – one year from purchase there’s a 50 per cent reduction on the frameset, while two years from purchase that falls to 30 per cent.

A year ago Focus moved to a direct sales model in the UK, a move which has proved positive for the brand, Bikebiz has been told, exceeding targets and growing UK turnover.
