Fisher reveals Expo 2010 seminar programme

Fisher Outdoor Leisure has released details of its seminar programme ahead of Expo 2010.

Each seminar promises to help retailers in their day-to-day business and will be run by a hand-picked selection of industry experts. Tours of Fisher’s HQ and warehouse will also be on offer for attendees, showcasing the distributor’s operational improvements implemented over the past 18 months.

Fisher’s local Sustrans Bike-It! officer Richard Noon will be on hand to talk about the success of the Bike-It! initiative so far and plans for its on-going development. The programme to encourage children to cycle to school is now active throughout the UK and represents a great opportunity to engage with cyclists of the future. As a Sustrans representative, Noon will also be celebrating 15 years of the National Cycle Network.

Roger Osbourne, partner shop liaison officer from Cyclescheme, will be presenting a session named ‘Growing your business with Cyclescheme’. The seminar will offer insights into how retailers can maximise sales through the Cyclescheme ‘tax-free bikes for work’ programme – looking at key products and price points, and how successful retailers have engaged with the local business sector to encourage sign-ups to the scheme.

Members of the Cycle Systems team (formerly known as Bike Doctor) will also be at the show to offer advice on how retailers can drive revenue, loyalty and profitability through better bike servicing. Their team will offer an insight into the professional cycle mechanic training offered by the Cycle Systems Academy.

Cycling industry marketing, PR and events consultant Mark Almond will present ‘50 Marketing Ideas that may Help your Business Grow in 2010’ – a rapid fire presentation of some interesting ideas to incorporate into business plans to help drive revenue and customer loyalty in. Almond runs his marketing consultancy, Red Cloud MC, and is also an advisor for numerous business advice organisations specialising in small and start up businesses.

Fisher tells BikeBiz that the seminar presenters will also be around during Expo for individual questions and discussions following each session.

Fisher’s Expo dealer show takes place at Sopwell House, St Albans and will run from Sunday February 7th to Tuesday 9th.
