Olli Erkkila designs cycle for Seoul competition

Finnish designer creates forkless bike

A Finnish bicycle designer has unveiled his latest creation – a bike that has no front fork.

Olli Erkkila’s all-white design features a modified frame, with the front wheel turned by a steering rod that’s connected to the handlebars, according to Design Boom.

The frame has also been modified to help bear the weight of the rider, with additional tubing set below the seat.

The forkless creation is one of many concept bike designs by Erkkila.

The forkless cruiser was originally designed as his graduation project but has also been entered into the Seoul Cycle Design Competition 2010, according to blog ‘Tom’s Guide‘.

The designer’s own site includes pics and a video of the unusual creation.
