Finland’s Herrmans opens warehouse in Shanghai

In order to meet the increasing demand for faster deliveries from OEM customers with production in China, Finnish bicycle component producer Herrmans has opened a warehouse in Shanghai, China.

The target group for the bonded warehouse is all Chinese OEMs that export their bicycles. The 3,000 sqm warehouse is situated five kilometers from the WGQ seaport.

The range in stock depends on customer demands and their forecasts, but will consist of grips, lights, reflectors and rim tape from the European manufacturer. Operations (ordering and invoicing) will be handled by Herrmans headquarters in Jakobstad, Finland.

"With the warehouse we will reduce the lead time so we can reach the entire Chinese coastline within two days," said Herrmans sales director Ronny Höglund. "We will start filling the warehouse as soon as we receive the forecasts from the OEMs."

The warehouse will be operational with stock in May 2016.
