London-based software engineering consultancy Ignitr has agreed a three-year deal to become FACE Partnership’s Official Technology Partner.
Ignitr will work with FACE Partnership to enhance their cycling events with digital and wearable technology, including the Revolution Series, London Nocturne and Parkour Ride. Ignitr will also be headline sponsor of the City Criterium race at the Nocturne.
As their events continue to grow FACE Partnership said it wanted to engage with its audience in innovative ways – Ignitr’s software development background will allow FACE to harness new technology, ‘providing compelling experiences for fans, customers and riders’.
FACE Partnership MD James Pope said: "One of our priorities is to use technology to enhance rider and spectator experiences at all our events.
"This partnership is the foundation to help us achieve this and we have been working closely with Ignitr to develop a bespoke CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system for our events and track days at Lee Valley VeloPark. This is the first phase of the project and we look forward to working with the team at Ignitr to develop new solutions as our events continue to grow.”
Pope went into more detail on the advantages of the tech for BikeBiz: "On a basic level the system will enable participants to create a profile and data from their track experience will be added including lap time, fastest speed etc.
“Members can add to this data over time and see improvements in performance and also see how they stand in individual and company leaderboards. We are looking into the latest wearable technology to see how far we can take this to provide a real insight into performance.
“The system will be launched for our track days at the Lee Valley VeloPark but we are planning to extend this to our other events where we can set up profiles and capture data from elite stars at Revolution or even the Nocturne. We’ll use this data as part of the event production but it will also be available to view by our members giving them a chance to see how they compare to World and Olympic champions.”
Managing partner of Ignitr Farid Tejani added: "We’re really excited to be so deeply involved in enabling professional cycling in the UK.
“We are passionate about using teamwork and collaboration to enable speed and success; a long term partnership with FACE allows us to also feed our other passion: bike racing."
