Extra seven Skyrides planned for 2010

Following last year’s successful programme of Skyrides, seven new locations have been added for 2010, taking the total up to 12.

Each mass-participation cycle ride will take place on traffic-free streets, with members of the public riding alongside the likes of Victoria Pendleton and Bradley Wiggins. Last year saw Chris Hoy and Kelly Brook join Boris Johnson and 65,000 other cyclists in London.

Ealing, West London, will see the first Skyride of 2010 on July 18th, followed by Bath and Southampton (July 25th) and Manchester (August 1st). Middlesbrough and the London Borough of Redbridge will both see Skyrides on August 15th, and then at Glasgow (August 22nd), Leicester (August 29th), Bradford (Augsut 29th), Blackpool (August 31st), the Mayor of London’s Skyride in central London (September 5th) and finally in Birmingham (September 12th).

Over 110,000 wheels rode the streets over the course of last year’s Skyrides.

Skyride aims to encourage thousands of people of all ages and abilities to get on their bikes.
