Following growing interest in the XCX series of chain guides and an increased market for one-by XC chain retention systems, E*thirteen is expanding its range.
The new line-up includes the new XCX D-type guide, designed for the high-direct style front derailleur mounts, increasingly found on hardtail and full suspension MTB frames. The D-Type guide bolts directly to the frame replacing the front derailleur to provide a chain partner for a single ring set-up thanks to 4.5mm of chainline adjustment.
The expanded 2012 line-up of guides aimed at the single front chainring market also features the XCX.CX, a cyclocross-specific device which applies e*thirteen’s MTB knowledge into a guide aimed at those wishing to adapt their cyclocross frames. Utilising a seat tube clamp cam, the XCX.CX has seamless chainline adjustment, E*thirteen says, and can be mounted to frames with 28.6, 31.8 or 34.9 seat tube diameters. Both new guides incorporate the adjustable upper slider from the World Cup winning LG1+ guide, alloy hardware and two colour options of black or white.
Already available in bottom bracket, seat tube (high and low) and E-type/S3 mounting standards, the new guides round out the complete line of one-by XCX cross country chain retention systems from e*thirteen.
With the advent of 10 speed drivetrains and the 11/36 cassette, the XCX has become the XC guide of choice for those looking to simplify and lighten their drivetrain. When coupled with any of e*thirteen’s Guidering options the XCX becomes a highly precise drivetrain tuning tool which can adapt any bike and wheel size to any XC or trail bike terrain.
