E*thirteen has announced the introduction of what it’s describing as a completely redesigned mountain wheel and rim line.
The three wheelset line-up features Grappler, for gravity riders, Sylvan, for all-mountain applications, and Optimus, for lightweight trail and downcountry bikes.
At launch, the announcement highlights e*thirteen has retained the best features from its past lines, while refining aspects of the new wheels, applying all they learned from an extensive test and development programme.
Providing a little insight into the product development process, the brand points to partnerships with World Cup riders, such as Aaron Gwin and Dak Norton, with data gathered, and input logged, over multiple seasons of racing.
From updated rim profiles to hub serviceability and e-bike optimisation, the brand points out that every feature has been “meticulously analysed and improved”.
Despite being lightweight, all wheels and rims are said to be stronger than ever, with increased compliance for durability and manoeuvrability. New finishes and graphics complete the package.
E*spec is ‘go for launch
Pedal-powered riders aren’t the only ones getting upgraded. With new Grappler e*spec and Sylvan e*spec products, the brand points out that every rider has an option, whether on a full-power e-bike or one with a lighter motor.
E*thirteen in the UK
Last year saw the brand announce the opening of UK offices, as well as the launching of a new, UK-specific, website.
The new office, located in Nottingham, hosts a service centre, as well as being E*thirteen’s exclusive wholesale distribution point for the UK’s trade and consumer customer base.
Joel Peters, E*thirteen CEO, said: “We are excited to finally be all-in in the UK. This move underscores our commitment to engineering game-changing products and providing industry-leading customer service.”
The UK facility is run by industry veteran Joe Poyzer and World Cup downhill racer Roger Vieira. The pair have worked together for more than six years, running their World Cup race team, and promoting multiple international brands for former distributor Moore Large.
The UK facility expands E*thirteen’s reach with locations now in California, Germany, Taichung, and Taiwan.
