British e-bike brand Estarli has unveiled its first drop bar bike with the launch of its G700, a full-carbon electric gravel bike weighing in at 13.5 kg, including its 250 Wh battery.
The G700 is powered by the brand’s own 40Nm hub motor and “electronic platform” – Estarli Cycle Systems – as found across the brand’s range, with the G700 “offering Estarli’s signature innovation to a new audience” and equipped with the SRAM Apex XPLR 11-speed groupset.
Designed to be ridden like a non-electric gravel bike, the G700 aims to deliver as an analogue pedalling platform – with the added benefit of “seamless, intuitive power there when you need it”.
“The gravel world is exciting and a little intimidating,” says Alex Francis, Co-Founder of Estarli. “It’s a fast-moving space packed with amazing bikes, but we knew we had to be in that mix. Our e-bikes are known for being lightweight, but when you pick up the G700, it honestly feels like a feather – and when you ride it, it’s so nimble you forget there’s even a motor or battery underneath you. We wanted to make something that truly earns its place in this exciting category, and we think we’ve done just that.”
Gravel Herts
Assembled in Estarli’s Berkhamsted factory, the G700 continues the brand’s mission “to create beautiful, functional, British-made e-bikes that deliver quality without compromise”.
At launch, we’re told that “Behind the scenes, Estarli’s bike builders, mechanics and R&D team – almost all gravel enthusiasts themselves – have been developing an Estarli gravel bike for some time. It’s a bike born as much from passion as from design. And for purely selfish reasons, the team has loved developing this model.”
“With every bike we design, we try to stay true to what we represent – British, affordable quality,” says Oliver Francis, Co-Founder of Estarli. “The G700 follows that ethos completely. Gravel might be considered a bit of an exclusive club, and we wanted to open the doors. This bike makes that world accessible without watering it down – it’s high-spec, beautifully built, and designed for anyone who just loves the ride. It’s certainly captured the imagination of the team here more than any other model.”
