Ergon and Ritchey have entered into a licensing agreement based around Ergon’s economic bicycle handle grip.
Koblenz, Germany-based Ergon is licensing its patents for ergonomic bicycle handle grips with integrated bar ends to the US based component manufacturer.
The deal will result in a new product launching in 2014.
Ergon founder and CEO Franc Arnold enthused: "I must admit I was very flattered that the legend of the mountain bike scene, Tom Ritchey himself, came to me to ask about the possibility of a co-operation."
Ergon has an eight-man development team and the brand has filed many patents, largely focused on grip technology.
