Former Bike and Paved editor-in-chief has taken charge of North American business

Enduro MTB mag names Joe Parkin US editor

Former Bike and Paved editor in chief Joe Parkin has taken on the the same role on Enduro Mountain Bike Magazine and is now tasked leading the team of editors and testers in the US and Canada.

“We see a huge potential in the U.S. media landscape and have collaborated with Joe to produce game-changing strategies for the North American market,” said Robin Schmitt, director of Enduro. “We have full confidence that Joe’s extensive experience, open-mindedness and understanding of both the industry and media will bring big changes. We are excited.”

Telling BikeBiz of 900 per cent year-on-year growth in its second year, the digital title now publishes bi-monthly in English and German, with issues available for free via the App Store and Google Play. The website pulls in 300,000 unique visitors monthly, with a four fold reach on social media, according to the publisher.

A team of 30 staff now work from offices in Germany, the UK, USA and South East Asia.

“I’ve been watching what these guys have been doing for a while now, and am truly excited for the opportunity,” said Parkin. “The Enduro crew is so passionate and forward-looking. The digital-magazine platform, and lack of large corporate oversight, allows Enduro to react quickly to both reader and industry trends. I know this is going to be a really cool ride.”
