Carbon wheel and component manufacturer Edco Engineering BV has released a new clipless pedal system. Using “The Clipless Pedal Reinvented”, the 3ax system uses a patented rocking mechanism that allows 4 degrees lateral “sway”. This is in addition to 9 degrees of traditional cleat float.
The pedal system was a Kickstarter project between 3ax Cycling, Total Support Group, and Edco Engineering.
The aluminum bodied pedals weigh 390 grams per pair. The spindles are made from a proprietary alloy and are 54mm in length. Stack height is 12.5mm and the system uses standard 3-bolt cleat mounting. Keo compatible cleats and hardware are included. Release tension is adjustable. The system has a RRP of £249.99.
Edco 3ax pedals are produced in the Netherlands.
Edco was founded as Edouard Dubied & Company in 1867 in Couvet, Switzerland. The Swiss company started making Presta valves in 1902.
