BikeBiz has acquired the E-Bike Summit, with an ambition to shape it into the UK’s definitive forum for the e-bike sector. Designed as a collaborative space, the revitalised summit gives attendees direct access to peers they rarely get to connect with, bridging the gap between commercial enterprise, national policymakers, local authorities, fleet operators, and retailers to confront urgent industry challenges and drive progress.

The event returns on 26 April 2027 at Sustainable Ventures, County Hall, London, marking its first staging since 2024 at the University of Oxford. Originally founded by Ade Thomas of ElectricDrives, the summit now enters its next chapter under BikeBiz stewardship.

E-bike summit 2023

Tackling Industry Challenges

The UK e-bike market faces a pivotal moment. While consumer appetite and commercial potential remain substantial, the sector continues to navigate disproportionate mainstream media scrutiny, the influx of non-compliant and illegal imports, and pressing regulatory and infrastructure requirements.

The 2027 summit will place cross-sector alignment at the forefront, establishing clear consensus around safety, verified standards, and collaborative lobbying.

Lauren Jenkins, Editor of BikeBiz, commented:

“Taking ownership of the E-Bike Summit is a pretty exciting milestone for us at BikeBiz. I think now more than ever it’s vital to bring people from different sectors of the industry together. Our hope with the summit is to bring together a wide range of people, from local authorities to MPs, brands and shared transport operators. We’d love to get as many people involved as possible, have important conversations, inspire action and find ways in which we can work together more collaboratively as an industry.”

Partnering with the E-Bike Positive Campaign

Reinforcing this dedication to consumer trust, regulatory compliance, and best-practice standards, the E-Bike Summit has confirmed a core partnership with the E-Bike Positive campaign, co-managed by the Association of Cycle Traders (ACT) and the Bicycle Association (BA).

In a joint statement on behalf of the E-Bike Positive campaign, the ACT and the Bicycle Association said:

“The E-Bike Summit is a great opportunity to bring together perspectives from across the sector, which is why we’re so pleased to be partnering with the event. It’s a natural fit for E-Bike Positive, providing a forum for constructive discussion around standards, safety and building confidence in the e-bike market.”

Dual-Track Format & Sustainable Ventures Venue

Hosted at Sustainable Ventures, situated directly opposite the Houses of Parliament, the venue provides direct proximity to Westminster for attending MPs and transport officials, alongside swift transit links via Waterloo Station and dedicated cycle parking on-site.

Reflecting the successful dual-stream structure of the 2024 event, the 2027 summit will feature two dedicated spaces:

  • The Main Stage: Hosting four to five focused, 30- to 45-minute panel debates, keynote addresses, and high-level Q&A sessions.
  • The Workshop/Interactive Room: A hands-on breakout space dedicated to deep-dive roundtables, technical masterclasses, and practical sessions.

Organisations, trade bodies, and brands interested in curating or hosting an interactive workshop are invited to make early contact with the team. Availability for workshop space is limited, so please enquire asap.

Amplified Reach Across the Datateam Portfolio

Backed by Datateam Business Media, the 2027 summit offers commercial partners multi-platform industry exposure across both BikeBiz and sister title MicromobilityBiz (MMB).

Sponsorship packages will pair live event presence, including panel curation, workshop delivery, branding, and delegate passes, with digital, print, and newsletter coverage across both publications. In addition, MicromobilityBiz will act as the dedicated editorial showcase in the lead-up to April 2027, profiling participating innovators, speakers, and commercial partners across the UK and international micromobility landscape.
