DT Swiss has announced updates to its 1800 Line of aluminium road, endurance and gravel wheels, introducing wider rims, revised rim profiles and a front dynamo hub option across selected models.
The new 1800 Line is positioned around everyday performance and reliability, with the brand targeting riders looking for durable alloy wheelsets for road riding, long-distance endurance use, gravel riding and bikepacking.
The range includes the A 1800 SPLINE DB, E 1800 SPLINE DB, G 1800 SPLINE DB and G 1800 CLASSIC DB, with the updates focused on increased tyre support, improved comfort and durability, and reduced weight on key models.
Wider rims across the range
According to DT Swiss, the updated internal rim widths are designed to provide better tyre support and allow riders to run lower tyre pressures without compromising performance. The aero rims move from 20mm to 22mm internal width, endurance rims from 22mm to 24mm, and gravel rims from 24mm to 26mm.
The brand says the changes are intended to improve comfort, grip and rolling performance, particularly on longer rides and rougher surfaces.
New angular rim shape for endurance and gravel
Endurance and gravel models in the new 1800 Line also adopt an angular rim shape, which DT Swiss says reduces weight while improving durability and impact resistance.
The E 1800 SPLINE wheelset has been reduced from 1,764g to 1,627g, with a 24mm internal rim width and 20mm rim height. The G 1800 SPLINE wheelset drops from 1,835g to 1,681g, with a 26mm internal rim width and 20mm rim height.
Front dynamo hub option
A front dynamo hub option is also available, using an SP PL-7 generator. DT Swiss states the system achieves 72% efficiency at 15km/h and delivers a standard 6V/3W output.
The hub is StVZO compliant and designed to work with standard hub dynamo products, including dynamo lamps and converters for USB-powered devices.
