DT Swiss has launched its latest freeride rim with the arrival of the FR 571 – available in both 29″ and 27.5″ with a 32 spoke count.
With the arrival of the FR 571, the brand points out that years of experience and knowledge in aluminium rim development have enabled its engineers to develop an even more impact-resistant rim.
In order to increase the impact resistance even further, the FR 571 sees DT Swiss use a similar design to the FR 560 rim. The profile of the FR 571 has had material added in specific areas, increasing the overall strength of the profile to create a rim adapted and durable to the practice of freeride and downhill.
Naturally enough, pinchflat protection has also been engineered into the FR 571 – an essential element for any freeride rim. A new rim hook profile has been developed specifically to reduce risk of punctures.
Designed for shredding. Optimised to keep rolling
Given the hard life a freeride wheelset lives, the FR 571 comes with brass nipples and PHR washers – a decision made to ensure the wheels are sturdy and durable, and optimised to be worked on.
Personalization
The FR 571 comes in stealthy black or in a special silver colour, as well as with three additional stickers.
Pro rider feedback
Richie Rude, YETI Factory Enduro Team rider, comments: “From the first ride, the FR 571 rim gave me the confidence to push harder. Whether it’s rough, rocky terrain or high-speed compressions, this rim handles it all with ease. It feels incredibly solid under pressure, tracks predictably, and takes big hits without flinching.
“What impressed me most was the balance between strength and ride feel. I could ride aggressively without worrying about tyre issues or rim damage. It’s the kind of gear that lets you focus on the ride, not the equipment.
“The FR 571 is built for riders who don’t hold back. It’s tough, responsive, and ready for anything you throw at it.”
