Bike retailer that was bombed in WWII is now up for sale

Do you fancy owning one of the oldest bike retailers in the UK?

Richardsons Cycles of Hull has seen more than most bike retailers – including being bombed out by the Luftwaffe in World War II – and now there’s a rare opportunity to buy the long established firm.

The business started in the late 1800s and started selling and repairing bicycles and accesories in the early years of the 20th Century. By 1924 the bike shop opened and it has been family run since then, now on its fourth generation.

More recently, Richardsons Cycles of Hull has enjoyed 20 per cent growth since 2004 and was one of the first Cube dealers. It offers sales, servicing and repairs with a loyal customer base and a strong local standing encorporated with six top bike brands.

The shop (the retailer’s third) is situated on the ring road on the ground floor of a two story building in which the first floor is currently used as storage and has previously been used for accommodation. The sale will include all stock, fixtures and fittings. All you need is your tool box and work stand, the current owners said.

The asking price is £38,950 and the leasehold £250 P/W.
