Lifeboat Events, promoters of DealerCamp and the smaller PressCamp – both held in Deer Valley resort, near Park City, Utah – have released dates for the 2012 event and have confirmed the attendance figures for the event recently staged for the first time last year.
The mountain resort was packed with more than 1700 retail staffers and industry members for the three day event.
There were 648 individual retail buyers from 352 bike retailers at the event.
Tomas Patek of World Cycle and XC Ski in Boise, Idaho, said:
“It was a great event. We accomplished quite a bit of business and managed to get in some epic riding."
Patek was one of 125 retail businesses offered a travel subsidy to attend DealerCamp.
Donnie Arnoult of Maui Cyclery in Hawaii said:
"“DealerCamp was an awesome experience for me. The location was really nice, and I had some amazing road and mountain bike rides. It was a productive and enjoyable time for me at the event."
Adam Micklin, director of global sales for Hayes Bicycle Group, said he was pleased with the productivity possible at DealerCamp:
“DealerCamp allowed the Hayes Team to have meaningful one on one discussions with our retailers, distributors and OEM brands. The Park City venue was the ideal location to showcase our latest creations from Manitou, Hayes, SUNringle and Answer products using our just launched Hayes Demo Fleet."
DealerCamp returns to Deer Valley Resort 22nd-24th July 2012.
Lance Camisasca, president of Lifeboat Events, said:
“We tripled our retail buyer and unique store attendance in only our second year. The exhibiting brand count quadrupled. For 2012 the bulk of our focus will be on retail buyer attendance and event enhancements. We’d like to see the retailer number grow. In large part it is a communication project in letting retailers know that they don’t need an invitation, just come. Everyone is invited."
