Dave Bowater appointed MD of Islabikes

Islabikes has appointed Dave Bowater as its new managing director. He was formerly the firm’s marketing director.

He replaces Tim Goodall who, in 2015, accepted a two-and-a-half year term as interim MD for Islabikes UK and US. Goodall will now resume as full-time CEO of Islabikes US in Portland, Oregon.

Bowater said: “Tim has been with the company since day one and has done a fantastic job running Islabikes UK and US over the past two-and-a-half years, but with the expansion of the business in a competitive sector it is time for us to focus dedicated energies to drive growth across our markets.”

Bowater originally worked as a freelance designer when Islabikes was founded in 2006 and has been responsible for all graphic design since.

"I’m honoured to be moving into the new role from my previous position as marketing director," he said.

"I’ve been with Islabikes from the start in some capacity. It’s been an incredible journey and a pleasure to see the company grow into the market-leading brand that it is now. We have a great reputation in the bicycle industry and I’m very excited to get moving on the next phase of the company’s development."
