Velorbis is to start supplying scaled-down versions of its adult machines

Danish brand to release Dutch bikes for kids

Danish bike brand Velorbis is to produce two Dutch bike models for younger customers. (Dutch bikes are English, of course).

As well as two upright, fully-equipped bicycles, Velorbis has produced a scaled-down version of its leather pannier bags.

There are two kids’ bikes available: Vickie and Churchie, miniature versions of the adult counterparts, Victoria and Churchill, and two sizes, 20" and 24" wheels. The bikes are designed in Denmark and made in Germany.

“We wanted to give children something different to choose from without plastic, gimmicks and garish colours," said Ken Boediker, CEO of Velorbis

"Who says that girls have to have pink bikes or that boys have to have bikes covered in stickers as standard? Children have taste too."

The smaller bike will cost £490 and the larger one £535. Availability is in April.
