Dahon signs licensing agreements with Akibo and Takeda in Japan

Dahon has signed licensing agreements with longstanding Japanese distributors Akibo and Takeda.

The licensing agreement will see the two companies take over the distribution of the brand in Japan.

This new arrangement will allow the companies to use the brand names ‘Dahon’ and ‘Dahon International’ respectively for all categories of bike products, including folding bikes, regular bikes and accessories, with maximum differentiation between the two brands.

The licensees can procure products from either Dahon or Approved Third-party Manufacturers (ATMs).

Under this new arrangement, the two companies are set to take over the exclusive distribution of differentiated Dahon-branded folding bicycles, among other categories in Japan.

All other Dahon customers in Japan, online and off-line, will work directly with Akibo and Takeda for purchasing and service.
