Future follows up on award win with a new paid for app

Cyclingnews.com gets new iPhone and iPad app

Future has developed its digital offering with a new iPhone and iPad app for Cyclingnews.com.

The new app draws content from the Cyclingnews site and is available as an in app purchase from the currently free Cyclingnews app, for £1.19 (or $1.99).

The development follows BikeRadar.com’s Daily Deal project – a customer rewards programme where a daily email alert is sent to customers with special savings each day on biking product, events and services. Future said thousands of consumers have signed up to Daily Deal, with the most popular deal a half price voucher for Cycles UK where 100 deals sold in ten hours.

Future was recently awarded ‘Best Digital Publisher – Consumer’ at the Association of Online Publishers.

“We have put a lot of work into our digital products this year at Future and the sports portfolio specifically has invested heavily in video and app development as well as improving the user experience on our sites,” explained Mark Cantwell, associate publisher for Future’s cycling portfolio.

“We’re passionate about cycling and the new live race reporting Cyclingnews app provides consumers with another route to access our market leading content. Combined with the Daily Deal, which allows us to offer our customers more great deals, we are engaging with our customers at all levels and constantly trying to improve the customer experience.”
