Developers invited to integrate with the new cyclist community aimed at all ages and abilities

CyclingBuddy.com opens up to app developers

CyclingBuddy.com, a social networking platform for cyclists, has invited app developers to integrate with the platform by opening up its API (application programming interface).

The strategic move means CyclingBuddy.com, supported by Madison, is now more open as a platform to developers and new potential apps. The firm said opening the platform up ‘is a sharp signal of its intent to continue to build a solid platform of services for cyclists’.

Despite only being three months old, CyclingBuddy members – from 14 countries – have manually logged over 150,000 cycling miles and shared over 1,100 of their favourite cycling routes.

"CyclingBuddy is a great community of cyclists of all ages and abilities, all looking to find someone else to cycle with," enthused founder and CEO Tony Piedade.

"There are a multitude of apps out there that are extremely good at recording and monitoring performance. We want to invite these app developers to integrate into CyclingBuddy.com. It’s a great partnership – we are really good at motivating people to cycle, while apps are great at recording progress and performance once they have got ‘out of the door’ – everybody wins."

Developers interested in the API should email API@cyclingbuddy.com
