Cycle Republic will act as official mechanical partner for Etape Loch Ness

Caledonian Concepts, organisers of Scotland-based event Etape Loch Ness, has announced a new partnership with Cycle Republic.

The Halfords-owned retailer has been revealed as the ‘official mechanical partner’ for the 66-mile cycle sportive taking place on April 29th.

Cycle Republic has been enlisted to provide mechanical support for the record 5600 riders expected for this year’s event. The Etape Loch Ness will become the retailer’s eighth high-profile event, adding to its event portfolio, which already includes Velo Birmingham, Palace to Palace and the Night Rider series.

Cycle Republic will provide a crew of qualified bike mechanics for the event, ensuring riders receive on-route support throughout the entire closed road ride. In addition, Etape Loch Ness participants will receive exclusive discounts and offers including 20 per cent off all parts, accessories and clothing in-store. Free maintenance workshops will also be held at the Edinburgh and soon-to-open Glasgow stores on the run-up to the ride. More information on these workshops is set to be released later this month.

Speaking on the announcement Cycle Republic managing director Peter Kimberley stated: “We are delighted to partner with Etape Loch Ness; what a fantastic event! Our mechanics have cycling in their DNA and will be on hand to ensure riders have quick, expert support in the case of any unfortunate mechanical issues.”

The Etape Loch Ness is the first event partnership to be announced for Cycle Republic this year. A full events calendar is set to be announced in the coming weeks with the midlands-based organisation poised to support other major events throughout the United Kingdom this season.
