Cycle Republic opens 4th London store in Battersea

Cycle Republic has opened a new cycle store in Battersea to capitalise on the cycling boom in London.

The brand new store is designed to deliver convenience, premium editions, expert advice and an extensive range of parts, accessories and clothing, as well as added accessibility with click and collect available through www.cyclerepublic.com.

The store has over 1,000 new lines exclusive to Cycle Republic, with 60% new products across clothing, helmets and footwear. To reflect the increasing number of women cyclists, the in-store range comprises 30% female-specific products across clothing, helmets and footwear.

Cycle Republic MD Peter Kimberley said: “London has a proud history of cycling and this new Battersea store will support city cyclists with the tools they need to get out on the road.

“Our team of 10 are all cycling enthusiasts and will provide bike servicing and repairs at great value, with courtesy bikes on hand for more extensive repairs – meaning you’ll never be without two wheels.”

Cycle Republic is operating a new ‘try before you buy’ scheme and runs a ‘Rewards Scheme’ which is free to join and gives cyclists access to exclusive discounts in store.

The Cycle Republic boss added: “We know that people in Battersea want accessible, convenient service and straightforward repairs – and we’ve aimed to meet that passion with a fantastic range of bikes and great looking accessories.”

The retailer shared some stats too: London has the highest number of commuter cyclists in the UK and cyclists on the roads have doubled in 10 years (ONS stats). Meanwhile a recent YouGov survey found that 45% of Londoners main reason for cycling was ‘being physically active. In addition, 19% of local people said they cycle to save money on public transport, while 24% of Londoners cycle to be more environmentally friendly, never leave home without a helmet and 42% wouldn’t go out without a lock. A massive 86% also think that saddle comfort is the most important factor when cycling.
