Cycle Republic expands into North East

Cycle Republic has opened a new bike shop in Gateshead.

The new store is located in Allison Court, a retail park directly opposite the Metrocentre, and will mark Cycle Republic’s second shop to open this year.

It boasts over 5,500 square feet of retail space, stocking over 160 bikes, including nearly 30 e-bikes, and thousands of cycle accessories.

Cycle Republic managing director Peter Kimberley said: “I’m delighted to open a store in Gateshead, our 21st store in just over three years.

“Newcastle and Gateshead have seen a huge uplift in cycling recently and I wanted Cycle Republic here to be a part of that.

“We’ll bring an incredible range of award-winning cycle brands and an unparalleled workshop experience to our customers!”

The new store also features Cycle Republic’s first dedicated Shimano service centre, offering customers a unique servicing and repair experience managed by Shimano certified and trained colleagues.

The new service centre will also stock an enhanced range of Shimano components and parts including pedals, groupsets and brakes.

A fully equipped bike workshop, providing same-day servicing and repairs at competitive prices can also be found in-store.

The retailer will be carrying leading cycling brands including Boardman, Basso, Lapierre, Genesis, Haibike, Ridgeback, Endura, Mavic, Kask, Bern, Pearl Izumi and Gore as well as the new range from Orbea bikes.

A specific female range featuring the exclusive Pendleton and Orla Kiely bikes are also stocked.
