Cycle Republic announces partnership with Rise Above Sportive

Cycle Republic, the specialist cycling retailer, has signed up as the Official Mechanical Partner of the Rise Above Sportive – the official Sportive of British cycling star, Mark Cavendish MBE.

The retailer, now with 12 shops across the UK, joins partners Oakley, Peugeot, David M Robinson, Science in Sport, Tineli and Cyclist Magazine with the second installment of the event taking place on the 28th August 2016

The Rise Above Sportive is a premium cycling experience offering riders three route options – 80/120/160km – specifically designed by Mark Cavendish. Starting in Chester, the routes capture the breathtaking scenery of Cheshire and north Wales, including the famous Horseshoe Pass.

As part of the partnership, Cycle Republic’s specially trained mechanics will provide support to riders on the day of the Rise Above Sportive, which sold out with 3,000 riders last year. The retailer will also play a prominent role in the Race Village in Chester City Centre.

Jim Berkeley, Head of Commercial at Cycle Republic, commented: “We are delighted to come on board with the Rise Above Sportive. The event’s premium quality and attention to detail matches the level of service and expertise provided to Cycle Republic customers. Like Mark, our mechanics have cycling in their DNA, so we are excited to play an important role in this bucket list ride.”

Oliver Clarke, Head of Partnerships at the Rise Above Sportive, commented: “After an incredible inaugural year in 2015, we are excited to welcome Cycle Republic to the Rise Above Sportive and to work with them in enhancing the experience for participants. Cycle Republic cater for all cyclists, with an emphasis on quality and service, meaning they are best placed to serve the needs of our riders; both at the event and throughout the year.”
