COREbike day two

COREbike’s hustle and bustle ramped up on Monday as more and more attendees arrived for the UK’s biggest annual trade show. On day two, we caught up with various exhibitors including Magura, 2pure, ZyroFisher and Upgrade. 

Magura is expanding the ergonomic options for its MT brakes, and is also offering brakes with the new flatmount mounting system. Bosch e-Bike Systems is exhibiting too this year, showcasing the latest technologies including the ABS system, Kiox and Fast Charger. 

2pure is showcasing brands including Scope, Donnelly, Feedback Sports, Ibis, Lizard Skins, Moustache, POC and Unior, with Scope a brand-new addition. In addition to the brands, the distributor has also brought back its coffee machine, after feedback that it was the ‘best at the show’.

Marketing manager Robyn Bowie also welcomed the move of the Bike Place show this year, which will now take place from 30th June to 2nd July, meaning it will not clash with CORE. She said: “Last year the show felt quieter. The year before we didn’t feel it so much because more people were going between the two of them, but last year, people didn’t seem to be.

“It’s great for the dealers as well, because if they’re back to back you have to choose because you don’t want the shop to close or to take a day out two weeks in a row. So it probably works better for the industry as well.”

ZyroFisher is displaying many brands including Santini, Hiplok, Master Lock, GT85, Alpinestars, Vittoria, and Selle Italia. It is the first showing of Argon 18 as a ZyroFisher brand, as well as Evoc and Niterider. Other brands on show include Tacx, Abus, Altura, Bell, CamelBak, Hamax, Giro, SKS, Torq, Fenwicks and Panaracer.

It was also announced earlier this month that ZyroFisher will distribute Deity Components, the American manufacturer of premium race goods. Founder Eric Davies said: “The show’s going great, it’s amazing to be here. We’ve been waiting to get back to the UK. The goal is to get involved with bike shops, the community and the riders over here and hit the ground running. 

“I’m used to events where you stand in line and talk to somebody and mostly you can only get 30 or 60 seconds with them. So to be able to sit and talk to somebody for an hour is what the relationships are all about. It’s why we’re so excited about the UK scene, it’s different over here than in the United States. Everything’s a little bit closer, it seems like everybody’s very supportive of each other.”

Upgrade Bikes, one of the original founding companies of COREbike, is debuting two brands, Ritchey and Fusion, as well as showcasing products from Lezyne, DMR and Kinesis. It is also showing a section of products across its brands that make up the IBD 100 range, exclusive to IBDs on Upgrade’s dealer log-in.

Jamie Hawthorn of Fusion said: “Our proposition is a minimal range that doesn’t change, every six months. It has continuity, some of our products have been on sale and unchanged for two years because if we do need to make a change, we can install that and have it done on our next production run.”
