Core: Shaun Palmer rumoured, Schwalbe seminars, Cyclescheme and Gore

Word has reached BikeBiz that Shaun Palmer – snowboarder, mountain biker and moto cross rider – is rumoured to be heading to Core Bike at the end of January. We can confirm, however, that Shaun Palmer’s 1996 Intense M1 will definitely be on the Extra/Intense stand.

The brand will also be showcasing a prototype of the new M series DH bike and launching a new model Spider 275 at Core.

Schwalbe Seminars
More Core news has arrived in our inbox in the shape of seminars for Schwalbe’s latest offerings.

Dealers can get the full run down of Schwalbe’s ground-breaking Pro-Core and Tubeless Road tyre systems at Core Bike as Tim Ward from Schwalbe UK will run a series of Seminars and demos throughout the show.

Ward will have cut-away samples of both systems on hand and will be holding the seminars/demos with Ison Distribution (who are premier Schwalbe distributors) in their Indianapolis room.

Seminar/Demo times:
Sunday 25th Jan: 10.30am and 3.30pm.
Monday 26th Jan: 10.30am and 3.30pm.
Tuesday 27th Jan: 10.30am and 3.30pm.
Wednesday 28th Jan: 10.30am.

There’s no need to book – dealers can just come along at the stated times to see the systems in the flesh.

Cyclescheme and Gore join Core

And there is yet more Core-related fare, with Cyclescheme making its Core Bike debut in 2015. As well as being on hand to talk about all things related to the Cycle to Work scheme, Cyclescheme wants to share plans for 2015 and beyond and talk about how it can help continue to grow sales for stores.

Topics up for discussion include the new B2B platform, store profiles, the Cyclescheme Academy, social media promotions, accessory packages and in-store POS.

“We’re delighted to be exhibiting at Core Bike 2015," commented Becky Smith, retail and events manager at Cyclescheme. "We have attended the show many times as guests, but this is our first time as an exhibitor. We have a lot to share and talk about, so are hoping to get in front of as many retailers as we can.”

Meanwhile Gore Bike Wear is also joining Core Bike. The firm’s Jonathan Bell explained: "It will be our inaugural attendance and we are looking forward to showcasing our new SS15 collections whilst at the same time will give an insight into what is in the range for AW15.

"The spring summer 15 collection has seen a significant step forward for us in our development of a new performance-oriented collection for mountain bikers the collection has been designed in partnership with professional riders who are taking part in the Sella Ronda Hero. The collection known as Alp X Pro features 4 pieces only which when combined in different ways with other accessories can be used the whole year round.

"The highlight piece of the collection must be the new ALP X Pro bib tight with baggy short attached – an incredible garment which has pushed the boundaries of the GORE BIKE WEAR garment engineering team and resulted in numerous plaudits at the recent Eurobike where we had the product launch – "simple solution..it just does what we need it to do" was the most common feedback. The UK team look forward to showing you the rest of the collection which is full of our award winning products for road, lifestyle riding and commuting. We want to wish all those involved in the cycling world a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year."
