The first conference on composite technologies in cycling is to be staged in Brussels in December. Cyclitech is being organised by JEC Group, a composites industry association and is co-sponsored by the Society of Plastics Engineers and the Union Cycliste Internationale.
Speakers will include Phil White, co-founder of Cervelo, Mark Barfield, tech manager at the UCI as well as the UCI’s composites expert Professor Jan Anders Manson.
The two-day conference will discuss subjects such as failure analysis, failure prevention and design in relation to strength and performance.
Companies expected to attend the €675 conference include Corima, Cervelo, KTM Technologies, Oxeon AB – TeXtreme, BMC, BCOMP, All Head Composites, Time Sport International, e-Xstream, BikeLabs International, Altair/Rolo Bikes and Progressiv Engineering.
Cyclitech will take place December 8th and 9th, with a second conference due to be staged in the US in 2016.
