Kali Protectives of Morgan Hill, California, has announced that it has lured Julian Coffey to move from British Columbia, Canada, to become the company’s VP of Business Development. Coffey joined the company in February. "In a very short time he has launched a new web site, opened fresh distribution channels and rolled out some successful initiatives to support upcoming products,” said Kali founder and owner Brad Waldron.
Coffey was previously publisher of MTB website Pinkbike, and prior to that worked for Race Face. He spent five years at each of his previous positions.
“Kali makes the most advanced helmets on the market, and I want to be a part of that," said Coffey.
"Kali simply is the only helmet you should be wearing.”
Kali Protectives was started by Waldron in 2008 after a stint at Specialized Bicycles and having come from the world of military aerospace engineering (he worked on composites for the B-2 Stealth bomber and the F-18 fighter).
