The Switchback is half a bike and attaches to the seat-post and rear dropouts of the lead bike, replacing the lead bikes rear wheel.
The rear derailleur and rear brake cable are run from the Switchback tandemiser.
"After the Switchback is professionally tuned by an IBD, it takes customers approximately five minutes to attach and detach," said Frank Schaefer of Switchback Tandem Adapters LLC.
The Switchback comes in a number of options with the basic model retailing at $700.
