Castelli has announced the latest evolution of its winter apparel line, launching the Perfetto 4, Perfetto Pro, and Gabba Pro jackets. The new range marks the second generation of products to feature Polartec AirCore technology, following its debut in the Perfetto RoS 3 last year.
Developed in partnership with Polartec, AirCore is a PFAS-free, electrospun membrane engineered from recycled polyester yarns. It is designed to offer a highly breathable, windproof, and water-repellent barrier. Castelli and its sister company Sportful currently hold exclusive rights to utilize AirCore within the cycling industry.
For the fourth generation of the Perfetto line, Castelli has split the flagship jacket into two distinct models: the Perfetto 4 and the Perfetto Pro, driven directly by consumer feedback.
“We’re incredibly proud of the Perfetto RoS 3; it truly is a groundbreaking jacket that raised the bar for all-condition performance,” said Castelli Global Brand Manager Steve Smith. “The feedback we kept on hearing from customers, though, was that it was lighter weight than previous Perfettos, and that they wanted more warmth. That’s why, with the Perfetto 4, we’ve listened to that feedback and introduced a new 219g AirCore fabric which has more loft and provides added insulation.”

The Perfetto 4 is tailored for the everyday rider, focusing on warmth and comfort in cool conditions (4-12°C). It features a redesigned splash tail with metal drainage holes – a nod to the original Gabba – and updated transparent shoulder taping. The increased breathability of the AirCore membrane has also allowed Castelli to eliminate the zippered ventilation openings found on previous iterations.

The Perfetto Pro is positioned as a minimalist race piece, constructed with a lighter 150g AirCore fabric. Designed for sustained high-intensity riding (6-14°C), it features an ergonomic, close-to-body fit to maximize stretch and eliminate excess bulk. The jacket has already seen action in the professional peloton, having been used by Soudal Quick-Step since the start of the season. It includes a two-way zipper and refined floating pocket construction adopted from the Gabba R series.
